Haliza's first posting

This blog was created by my brother, Muzafar, when he saw my pix and story in the Star paper, southern circulation at that time.

I looked at it once, but then, left it idle due to very many reasons....but those close to me would know why. And I will share the story later.... one fine day.

I don't know what prompt me today to call my brother, Japa (Muzafar) to 'tutor' me how to post to the blog. And finally, I manage to today. I've to learn more of those basic things of this blogging things... and of course, Japa will be doing the editing for me. Okay Japa?

I hope I will be able to post at least once a week. And Japa, thank you for creating this blog then.

It has been more than a week the UMNO branhces kicked-off for their annual meeting. As Chief Division for Wanita UMNO Batu Pahat, this year is an important year as it's time to elect the new office bearers. 27 out of 130 Wanita branches had already held their meetings. At the moment, I'm still the sole candidate nominated for the UMNO Batu Pahat Chief Wanita post. I hope the nomination will be maintained as such until the 24th August. My appreciation goes to all my committee members who have worked with dedication in ensuring all the programs carried out during my 4 years tenureship as the UMNO Batu Pahat Division Wanita Chief. I keep reminding my Wanita, what ever the chaos and turmoil at the federal or division level, we must stay calm. We must not forget that we are the most important wing under UMNO that will at least, ensure our family members are safe and stay united as a family. We are the mother to our children, the wife to our husbands, the sister to our siblings. We are the force that God created to assist the mankind.

So be it.... we can hold our family together and in Batu Pahat, the community is united and steadfast. UMNO is just not a political party. It is a way of life to many of us here. I would want to see my Wanita united, no matter if we disagree ini certain things, we deal with the problems without having to create enemies. We manage it for the past 4 years.

In weeks to come, if there is anyone else nominated for the Chief Wanita post, she shall stand the chance to contest. It is a democratic process, similar to what I've gone through when I offered my service and won against the incumbent, Pn Hjh Shamsiah Ibrahim in 2004. In UMNO, power is so mighty that people with posts thought they can do almost anything... I beg to differ. In UMNO, we serve the people and we gain the perks as part of the service rendered. There is no execution of contract of service, no monthly allowances, merely the keen interest to hold a post that can make a difference to the fellowmembers.

I hope I'm able to be in the UMNO system again, pending the nomimations to be on my side. God willing.
